The ventral scales of Dinodon rufozonatum were investigated to understand the outstanding tribological adaptability in various environments. coefficient friction (COF) was measured and changed with contact conditions. It discovered that COF under water-lubrication conditions (WLC) larger than dry (DC). More interestingly, increased first then decreased as substrate roughness reduced. abrasion marks on observed. results indicated DC wore more gently WLC.
